Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Living indepentently

Live your home, your way — with the support you need

AT NOAHS HAVEN,

We understand that home is more than a place — it’s where you relax, grow, make choices and build your future.

With our SIL offering, we provide the supports you need to live as independently as possible, in a setting that’s safe, comfortable and designed with your goals in mind.

What is SIL?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded option for people who require higher levels of support to live in their own home. It means you get personal support or supervision of daily tasks so you can live well, build your skills, and really belong.

SIL is typically for participants who:

Need significant help during the day and often overnight as well.

Want to live in a home of their own or share with other participants, and have their supports shaped around them.

Have goals for living more independently, learning new skills and participating in community, personal and home life.

Important to know: SIL funds the support, not the rent or groceries. So housing costs are separate.

Where it works best

Shared or individual living arrangements tailored to your preferences.

Homes where you live with other participants and share supports, or your own home where you receive dedicated support.

A setting built around your goals, routines and comfort zones — so you feel part of the community, not just supported.

What you will get with Noah’s Haven Supported Independent Living (SIL)

At Noah’s Haven, our SIL service brings more than just a living arrangement. We bring a team that uses lived experience, flexible support and real care to help you thrive.

Here’s how we make it happen:

  • We sit with you and define what home-life means for you: your routines, goals, preferred living arrangements, social connections and daily habits.

  • From helping you with personal care, meal preparation, managing your home, and building routines, to being there overnight if needed.

  • We help you practise and grow your skills: cooking, cleaning, budgeting, travelling, making friends, using transport — things you might want to do more of one day.

  • We design your living space to feel like your home, not a facility. We consider your personality, preferences and lifestyle.

  • You choose how you live, who you live with, what your support looks like — and we adapt as you change and grow.

  • Living well means being part of life beyond the home. We support you to engage, explore and enjoy your local community and relationships.

Why choose SIL with us?

Because you deserve more than “just a service” — you deserve a place that feels like home, with people who understand.

Because our team is small, personally involved and committed. We don’t just “manage” your supports — we walk alongside you.

Because your growth, your independence, your voice matter. This isn’t about doing things for you — it’s about doing things with you.

Because we’ve built our SIL service on what matters: dignity, choice, comfort, connection.

How the process works?

Talk with us

We begin with a conversation: what you want, what you need, where you are now, and where you’d like to go.

Choose your home

Together, we explore living arrangements that fit you: location, housemates (if any), budget, lifestyle.

✔ Build your support plan

We create your roster of care, define who supports you, when, and how. This is submitted for approval (in line with NDIA guidelines).

✔ Review and grow

Your goals change. Your living style, interests, routines evolve. We meet regularly to review how things are going and what comes next.

✔ Start living with support

Once everything’s ready, you move in. We engage your supports, introduce your routine, help you adjust, and stay connected.
